Magali Lara

Born in Mexico City in 1956, Magali Lara is a celebrated artist whose work bridges literature and visual arts through painting, drawing, ceramics, tapestry, and video animation. A longtime professor at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos, she has been honored with numerous distinctions, including the Medal of Merit in Arts (2019), the Medalla Bellas Artes (2024), and membership in the Academia de Artes. Her art has been featured in major solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, most recently at MUAC, the Museo de Arte Moderno, and in a retrospective at RGR Gallery.
