IDSVA Student Feature: yon Tande

IDSVA Ph.D. Candidate and David Driskell Fellow yon Tande has been appointed Assistant Professor of Dance at Temple University, Boyer College of Music and Dance, with a focus on Africanist Perspectives in Contemporary Dance Practices.

Yon Tande previously served as the Program Director at the Southside Cultural Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

"Through the rigorous course of study and the meticulous process of unearthing layers of knowledge, I have come to realize that 'trusting the process' is but one mode of self discovery initiated by IDSVA. There were tears and fears, but cheers were never too far behind."
